    Critical hits

Sometimes you land a critical hit that does 1.5× damage. Vivid colors land them more often, with a chance from 4% to 18%. First Strike skills always land a critical hit.

    How a turn works

1You and your foe choose actions at the same time
2The faster side goes first. Actions that change colors change them before attacking
3Then the slower side acts. Defend also halves the first attack

    Mixing paint

    PaintWhat happens
    RedMoves toward red, likely Fire
    YellowMoves toward yellow, likely Light
    BlueMoves toward blue, likely Water
Yellow and blueMakes green, which is Wood
Red and blueMakes purple, which is Dark
Red and yellowMakes orange, on the border of Fire and Light
WhiteBrighter and paler. Speed goes up and Defense goes down. Add it many times and you turn white, with no element
BlackDarker and deeper. Defense goes up and Speed goes down. Add it many times and you turn black, with no element
Opposite colorsMixing opposites such as red and green, yellow and purple, or blue and orange cancels them out into a muddy color

    Brightness, vividness and stats

Each thing has its own stat shape. On top of that, how bright and how vivid your color is shifts points between stats. The total stays the same.

    ColorStats that rise and fall
    ☀️ Bright👟 Speed up to 30%🛡️ Defense
    🌙 Dark🛡️ Defense up to 30%👟 Speed
    🎨 Vivid⚔️ Attack up to 20%❤️ HP
    🌫️ Muted❤️ HP up to 20%⚔️ Attack

White makes you brighter and black makes you darker, and both make you more muted. Red, yellow and blue make you more vivid, while opposite colors make you more muted. Each paint button shows the stats that rise after mixing, such as 👟▲. If your element stays the same, you keep your thing and only your stats change.

    Rebirth

When your element changes, you are reborn as a thing of that color. If the element stays the same, your thing does not change. Your HP keeps the same share it had. Boosts you gave yourself, such as Defense▲, are lost, while damage over time and Attack▼ from your foe stay.

    Status marks

    Team and combos

After a win, the foe you beat can join your team with half its HP. You can have up to 3. When your fighter falls, the next one steps in. Fallen members leave even if you win that battle, and the run ends when all of them fall. Before a battle you can choose who goes first. At the start of a battle, the mix of elements on your team boosts everyone.

    ComboElementsEffect

    Your color sets your element

Fire Light Wood Water Dark Fire None

Red is Fire, yellow is Light, green is Wood, blue is Water and purple is Dark. Colors without a hue, such as white, black and gray, have no element.

    Ranks

Ranks run in monthly seasons. Runs started with the roulette and Daily Color count toward your rank. You pay an entry fee in points when a run starts, then earn 10 points per win and 20 for beating a boss. As your points grow, you move from the outer edge of the color wheel toward the white at its center. A new season starts you two ranks below where you finished the last one.

    Rare things

Some things are harder to meet than others of the same element. Rare things also have one special trait of their own, on top of their element trait.
